Quennina is a Fine Artist, Published Illustrator, Art Educator and Creative Director known for her energetic and vibrant portraits celebrating African American culture through street fashion and urban settings. She obtained her B.F.A. in Drawing and Painting, and a B.S. in Psychology in Biological Evolution from the Pennsylvania State University. Inspired by her own upbringings and transformative work in developing youth programming, Quennina expresses herself through her work  as an investigation of self in an effort to unpack trauma and it's impact on structuring identity.

 

Naturally as an artistically inclined child, Quennina early on developed a stylistic identity as she explored self-expression and a sense of community in her work. The Harlem native's urban roots are explored through layers of resilience, woven in patterns of integrity and compounded in the complexity of patterns in identity. She strives to build community through thought provoking figurative works that revitalize self expression, healing and independence.
